In the midst of a dive search that bounty hunter Padilla's crew was doing Cindy and George Anthony came out to confront Leonard Padilla. The point of contention: a memorial service Padilla has planned for Caylee Tuesday morning.Cindy Anthony did most of the talking. From a distance our camera caught what Cindy Anthony said. It s not 100 percent conclusive. You guys aren't doing any good for Caylee...If you want to put divers in there fine... but you're not holding a memorial service for my granddaughter. The Anthony's didn't say much after their talk with Padilla except that they're at upset Padilla's planned memorial service. To me it s defamatory against us as a family...there is a little girl out there alive, said George Anthony.Padilla made it clear their talk didn't change his plans
There is nothing better than getting to brag about the district, Young said.
Station staff even produces local specials, like one regarding the Education Foundation trip to Harlem. Barker said they are profiling all the district magnet schools to visually show parents what the campuses offer.
Ultimately, Barker said he wants more students involved in station productions. Students at the Advanced Technical Center have helped with video editing, graphic creation and filming for events like football games. However, he said he wants to begin a student talk show in which the students choose topics and the guests.
It's a lot of fun watching these students, and it would be fresh and something different, Barker said.
Barker has offered drama and speech students at Permian and OHS the chance to work as on-air reporters.
They get in front of that camera, and they want to perform; it's great seeing that energy, Barker said. We will have to grow the students.
Starting in the spring, Barker said he wants to begin producing a wider program for the entire community to expand upon partnerships with Odessa College, UTPB and the Odessa Chamber of Commerce.
Athletic coordinator Todd Vesely hosts the Coach's Corner program involving one-on-one interviews with coaches as well as highlight footage from games and interviews conducted by students and channel staff.
It's a very laid-back personal setting than talking to them at the game, Vesely said.
