Chad Smith has been drummer for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers for 20 years, replacing original sticksman Jack Irons. In the forward to a new book about the band by photographer Tony Woolliscroft he discusses how the two became part of the Chilli Peppers family.
TONY AND I JOINED THE PEPPERS AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME...
On my first tour of Europe in the cold ass winter of 1990, we headed off to England. I was so excited to be in a country that spawned so many of my musical idols: Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, Queen, etc. This is the music I grew up on and I couldn't believe I was over here in their backyards

Windows Mobile! We found out earlier that Microsoft doesn't really view Android or the iPhone as a major threat to its massive business presence, and Microsoft keeps talking the talk about Windows Mobile now being a serious consumer proposition.
It isn't. That's about as close to fact as opinion can get Windows Mobile is still woeful to use and, what's more, we won't be seeing the seventh variant until a year's time. When HTC overlaid its Touch Diamond with TouchFLO 3D, it was obvious that even Windows Mobile's closest exponents didn't see its qualities.
And the far-off redevelopment of Windows Mobile is a shame, since the hardware on display from HP is sound. The Data Messenger boasts a 3.1MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as well as fast 3G broadband all centred around a 2.8-inch touchscreen display. And there's a slide-out keyboard too.
Once again, brilliant hardware
